No-Bake Chocolate Cream Pie (video)
A creamy, silky-smooth chocolate mousse on top of a dark chocolate Oreo cookie crust makes this pie absolute chocolate heaven.
Nothing beats a cold creamy dessert during the hot summer weather. Especially a no-bake one because who wants to turn on the oven and heat up the house unless you have to. That’s why this no-bake chocolate cream pie is perfect for this time of year (or anytime of year if you’re a chocolate fan).
This recipe starts with some dark chocolate Oreo cookie crumbs mixed with a little butter to hold everything together. Then you beat one package of cream cheese with some sugar, whipped cream, melted chocolate, and there you have it! The BEST chocolate cream pie of your life.
The taste is ultra chocolaty and creamy with a little tang. The texture is airy and velvety-smooth. It’s simple to prepare, yet luxurious to enjoy.

Thanks Lily! This has been my go-to recipe for a chocolate summer dessert for the past few years on days when just the thought of turning on the oven makes me break out in hives. I prefer to use dark chocolate chips rather than semi-sweet and generally use a prepared chocolate cookie crust rather than make my own since I’m lazy. I also stabilize the whipped cream used for the topping by adding a 1/2 tsp gelatin dissolved in a tiny amount of cold water, sweeten it with a tsp of powdered sugar and add 1/2 tsp vanilla so it holds up if I make the pie a day in advance or have leftovers. I generally decorate with either maraschino cherries or raspberries depending on the preferences of the folks who will be eating it.
You’re welcome and thank you for your kind words, Abby! Great idea stabilizing the whipped cream. I just recently learned to add instant vanilla pudding. Does the same trick:)
Hi Lily,
I notice you listed ingredients in US measurements but then changed over to metric for the cream cheese. 250 grams (8.8 oz) is not a “package” here in the US. A pkg. of cream cheese is 8 ounces.
So… do we weigh out 250g or do we just use an 8 oz package of cream cheese?
Thanks!
Cat
Ah, good point. In Canada our cream cheese is 250g, but the few grams won’t make a diff in this recipe, so I’ll change it to US standard to make things consistent. Thanks and enjoy the cream pie!
Can you leave out the cream cheese when doig the no bake chocolate pie? and do you have a comment page instead of my e-mail?
Yes, you can leave the cream cheese out to bring it to room temperature for this recipe. This is my comment page and you don’t have to enter your email to comment or receive replies. Enjoy the cream pie!
