Turtles Cookies
Chewy caramel, crunchy pecans and milk chocolate all wrapped up in an irresistible little cookie!
I’ve always been a huge fan of Turtles candies. I just love how chewy and nutty they are along with the perfect taste of milk chocolate. Whenever I see or eat Turtles it reminds me of the 1980’s Canadian promotional jingle “I Love Turtles” and I will often find myself humming the tune. Now, I realize as I say that, many of you weren’t even born then. However, whether you are young or old like me, I think we can all agree Turtles chocolate is amazing, and it’s even better in a cookie.
This recipe starts with a simple and very basic cookie dough: just butter, sugar, an egg, flour, a dash of vanilla, and a pinch of salt. Because the Turtles candies are so flavorful, you really don’t need anything else.
The texture of these cookies is crispy around the edges and soft in the center. The texture is also chewy from the caramel and crunchy because of the pecans. The taste is nutty and chocolatey with notes of brown sugar and butterscotch.
