  • 1/2 cup (114g) unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup (250ml) honey 
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup plain yogurt
  • 1 tsp vanilla extact
  • 2 cups (250g) all-purpose flour
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp nutmeg

Optional for serving:

  • more honey
  • creme fraiche or more yogurt
  • fresh fruit

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350F and grease a 9″ cake pan.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, beat the butter and honey until well combined.
  3. Mix in the eggs, one at a time, followed by the yogurt and vanilla.
  4. In a separate bowl, toss together the flour, spices, baking powder, and salt. Add the flour mixture to the wet ingredients and stir until just combined. Transfer the batter to the prepared cake pan.
